The Etmap guide

How to save your own Instagram Reels

A step-by-step guide to copying the right link, saving an available MP4 and finding it on your phone.

Start with the individual Reel

Open a Reel you created or have permission to download. Use the sharing menu to copy its link. A profile address points to an account rather than a media file, so the tool will not accept it. A valid Reel link contains /reel/ followed by a post identifier.

Resolve the link

Open the Reels tool, paste the copied link and confirm your permission. Etmap requests the available media from the source. It does not request your Instagram password and cannot unlock private posts. If the source refuses anonymous access, the request fails instead of bypassing the restriction.

Choose the available file

The result shows a download button for an accessible MP4. Etmap selects a combined video-and-audio format when one is available. It does not invent additional resolution or upscale the video. A lower-resolution source cannot become a genuine 4K video just by changing the download label.

Save the result

On a desktop browser, check the Downloads folder. In Safari on iPhone, open Downloads and then Files. If the file supports saving to Photos, use the share menu after opening it. Device menus vary by system version.

Keep the original link

Download links expire after ten minutes because source media links can change. If a link expires, return to the tool and resolve the original Reel URL again. Etmap does not maintain a permanent archive of downloaded videos.
