How to download an Instagram video cover
Preview an available Reel or video cover and save the image separately from the MP4 file.

A cover is a separate image
An Instagram video cover is an image provided by the source for a post or Reel. Saving it is different from downloading the video. Etmap retrieves the accessible source image; it does not redesign the cover or generate an arbitrary video frame. The cropped image on a profile grid can differ from the complete available cover.
Use the individual post link
Open a video or Reel you own or are authorized to save and copy its individual link. Paste it into the cover tool and select Download. The loading animation stays visible while the source is checked. If a cover is available, its result opens on a separate page. A profile address is not a video-cover input.
Check the preview before saving
The result shows the actual accessible image. Select Download cover to save it. A normal video result also includes this option when a cover is available, so you can keep the MP4 and image separately. Account information and captions are shown only when supplied by the source; a missing cover does not produce a fabricated successful result.
Understand the available quality
The downloaded image may be a compressed source version rather than the original design file uploaded by the creator. Etmap does not invent higher resolution versions or infer video resolution from the cover dimensions. Open the saved image to check its real size. Preview layout and the actual downloaded image are different things.
Keep permissions and expiration in mind
Generated links expire after about ten minutes. If the result expires, submit the original post again. Source access can also change earlier. Saving a public cover does not give permission to repost it as your own or use it in advertising. Keep your own backup or obtain the creator’s authorization before reuse.
